Profile: Dr Noel O Connor, Director of Student Services, Dublin Institute of Technology

Noel is Director of Student Services at the Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT).  This Directorate has overall responsibility for the management and development of student services within DIT.  The Directorate incorporates Campus Life which includes: Counselling Service; Careers; Chaplaincy; Sports & Recreation; Medical Centre and Disability Services.  In addition, the Directorate incorporates Access and Civic Engagement Services; the International Office and Student Administration Services which includes Student Registrations, Timetabling; Examinations & Graduations and Student Information Systems.  The Directorate is responsible for planning the relocation of DIT to a new 73 acre campus at Grangegorman in Dublin’s north inner city.  After 120 years spread across Dublin City DIT will move to a new campus which will be developed on a phased basis. The campus opened in 2014 with 1,100 students with a further 10,000 to follow in 2017.  Noel is also a Director of the Grangegorman Development Agency, HEAnet, An Chéim, The DIT Foundation and the City of Dublin Educational Training Board
